Using the Difference Quotient

What is the difference quotient?

In this post, we will be interpreting and using the difference quotient \frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h} as the average rate of change of f(x) or the gradient of a chord or secant of the graph y = f(x) , as a part of the Prelim Maths Advanced course under the topic Calculus and sub-part Difference Quotients.

How do I use the difference quotient?

The following video explains the definition of the difference quotient and covers a wide range of examples of how it is applied to various functions.
