How to identify a function and relation?
In this post, we learn to identify types of functions and relations on a given domain, using a variety of methods and understand what is meant by one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one and many-to-many. This is part of the Prelim Maths Advanced course under the topic Working with Functions and sub-part Introduction to Functions, specifically focusing on identifying the type of function (vertical line test). We also learn how to use the vertical line test to identify a function and determine if a function is one-to-one. A function has one unique output for any input, while a relation can have more than output.
