What is instantaneous rate of change?
In this post, we will interpret and use the derivative at a point as the instantaneous rate of change of a function at that point, as a part of the Prelim Maths Advanced course under the topic Calculus and sub-part The Derivative Function and its Graph. Also examining a number of examples of variable rates of change of non-linear functions. The instantaneous rate of change is the change in the rate or slope at a particular instant and it is the same as the rate of change in the derivative value at a specific point.
This video going further in-depth about what instantaneous rate of change is, and how to find it in a function.
