What is the ambiguous case of the sine rule?
In this post, we find angles and sides involving the ambiguous case of the sine rule, as a part of the Prelim Maths Advanced course under the topic Trigonometric Functions and sub-part Trigonometry. We use technology and/or geometric construction to investigate the ambiguous case of the sine rule when finding an angle, and the condition for it to arise.
The following two videos cover the ambiguous case of the sine rule, explaining in detail about what possible values you can receive from using the sine rule, and how to determine which one to use.
