Area of Composite Shapes

How do you find the area of composite shapes?

A composite shape is made up of two or more shapes attached together. The process of calculating the area of composite shapes in Prelim Standard Math is below:

  1. Divide the composite shape into two or more plane shapes
  2. Calculate the area of each plane shape
  3. Add or subtract the area of the plane ships
  4. Write the answer to the specified level of accuracy
