What is latitude and longitude?
The Earth’s surface is divided into parallels of latitude and meridians of longitude. Latitude is the angle north or south of the equator, that runs horizontally across the earth (a helpful tip to remember this is “lat is flat”) and longitude goes from east to east, running vertically across the earth. This post will help you understand latitude and longitude to answer questions commonly given in the Prelim Standard Math course. But first, let’s look at what latitude and longitude are visually.
