  • Hydroxyl groups
  • Carboxylic acids

Alkenes: Carbon-Carbon Double Bonds

A video on the qualitative investigation to test for the presence of alkenes in organic molecules, using bromine water.

Alcohols: Hydroxyl Groups

A video on the qualitative investigations to test for the presence of a hydroxyl group in organic molecules, using an esterification test and a ceric ammonium nitrate test.

Carboxylic Acids: Carboxyl Group

A video on the qualitative investigations to test for the presence of a carboxyl group in organic molecules, using a litmus test, sodium bicarbonate test and ester test.
