Calculations of Keq and Predictions of the Reaction Direction

This is part of the HSC Chemistry course under the topic of Calculating the Equilibrium Constant (Keq)

In this post, we perform calculations to find the value of Keq and concentrations of substances within an equilibrium system and use these values to make predictions on the direction in which a reaction may proceed.

Equilibrium and Keq

An explanation of Equilibrium, and how to calculate for Keq with many example reactions. Also presenting a model of reactants and products to understand equilibrium with the transfer of water between two systems.

The Reaction Quotient (Q)

An exploration of the equilibrium constant in chemical equilibria and using the reaction quotient to determine which direction a reaction will proceed.
