Impulse

What is impulse?

In this post, we evaluate the effects of forces involved in collisions and other interactions and analyse quantitatively the interactions using the concept of impulse \Sigma p = \vec{F}_{net} \Sigma t , as a part of the Prelim Physics course under the module Dynamics and sub-part Momentum, Energy and Simple Systems. Impulse is the overall effect of a force acting over time, expressed in Newton-seconds.

The following two videos introduce you to the concept of impulse, and the related formula and theory-based around the forces involved in collisions and other interactions.
