Thinking about getting started with Art of Smart?
Bikram and his daughter Kritika have been working with Art of Smart over the last year for HSC Advanced English.
We recently chatted to Bikram who shared his experiences in working with Art of Smart and the impact it’s had for Kritika!
Prior to getting started with Art of Smart, what help was Kritika needing?
Kritika needed with HSC Advanced English.
Her results weren’t moving in the right direction for English with Year 12 and in particular creative writing was an area of need, so we thought some additional support would help Kritika improve her English results and create more options for her for university given that English is a compulsory subject.
How did you hear about Art of Smart?
Kritika heard about Art of Smart Education from friend at her school and we then got in touch with Art of Smart!
We received a good response to our all our inquiries. Fiona from the Art of Smart team was fantastic in providing answers to our questions as to what we were needing!
So we had a good channel of communication which was important so we could make sure we were making the right decision for Kritika’s HSC!
What was the moment in working with Art of Smart that you knew you’d made the right decision?
After we had our first session which Art of Smart calls a Kickstarter Session, we asked Kritika how it went and Kritika provided a good review that the session was very helpful. It was at this point we knew that we’d made the right decision.
Kritika found that her tutor Kathryn was very good – she understood where Kritika was needing support, and then targeted these areas, so the support was very personalised!
What have we done to help Kritika during her HSC? What’s the impact been?
We saw Kritika’s results improve considerably during Year 12, which was fantastic!
More importantly, Kritika was also very satisfied and more confident! From her last year results to HSC Trials there was a positive jump which was exciting to see.
In fact, Kritika has an offer already for Psychology (Honours) at Macquarie University!
What’s the best thing your tutor Kathryn has done to support Kritika?
Kathryn provided lot of email support as well alongside the lessons. So it wasn’t just the 1.5 hours per week.
The offline support Kritika received was fantastic. Kritika would email work for Kathryn to review and Kathryn supported her in this way.
