How We Calculated the Scores
To calculate the ranking, we gathered publicly released data for each school, and averaged publicly released data from each school on the percentage of students who achieved above 80, 90, 95 and 99 ATAR results. We then averaged those percentages into a single score.
This was mapped against the state distribution (using the publicly released QTAC information), and then bravo! We are then able to identify the number of times (outperforming percentage) that a school performs above the state distribution.

In the choice between a Co-Ed school or a gender-streamed school, the difference in academic achievements should be heavily considered as a huge factor! But it’s also important to remember that Co-Ed schools offer other benefits that gender-streamed schools don’t.
Don’t see your school on here? It’s likely that your school does not publicly publish their ATAR data! Publicly submit your data in 2023 or contact us at [email protected] to submit your results to Art of Smart. Note that we don’t include schools that complete the IB system, to improve internal validity.
