What makes Hea a Trailblazer?

Hea is a remarkable individual who has left a lasting impact on their school community. As a School Prefect, Hea played a pivotal role in fostering unity and connection among students after the isolating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through various initiatives, Hea and their fellow Prefects organised events like the annual Christmas concert, where students showcased their talents and supported each other, bringing the community closer together. They also revived the school’s annual Genie drive, raising funds for the Make a Wish foundation. Additionally, Hea’s efforts in coordinating the school’s trivia night, combined with their brother school, helped bridge the gap between different year levels, fostering a sense of camaraderie and strengthening the school’s bond as a community.

Hea’s achievements as a School Prefect and completing the silver Duke of Edinburgh Award have honed their communication and perseverance skills, which are essential for both team tasks and personal growth. Through their involvement in the Duke of Edinburgh program, Hea demonstrated their resilience by completing a challenging 3-kilometre walk with a semi-injured ankle and a 14kg rucksack. They have learned the value of effective communication and perseverance, skills that will undoubtedly contribute to their future endeavours and allow them to lead change in their chosen industry.

Despite facing personal challenges, Hea has remained steadfast in their commitment to academic excellence and community service. With the support of their teachers and friends, Hea was able to overcome mental health issues and perform to the best of their ability, both academically and for the betterment of their community.

Looking ahead, Hea aspires to pursue a career in either AI/cybersecurity or law. Their dedication to academic achievement and their involvement in various extracurricular activities, including being a Senior Leader of the school’s LGBTQIA+ awareness group, demonstrate their passion for making a positive impact. With their diverse skill set, Hea plans to strengthen their knowledge through a double degree, enabling them to contribute effectively in their chosen field.

Hea’s commitment to fostering unity, their resilience in the face of challenges, and their dedication to social impact make them a true Trailblazer. Their ability to bring together their school community and their unwavering determination to make a positive difference set them apart as a role model for others. With their drive, leadership skills, and passion for creating change, Hea rightfully earns a place among our Top 50 Trailblazers!
