To be eligible for this scholarship, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Students have to be Australian citizens or permanent residents 
  • Reside in or have completed the HSC in the Western Sydney region 
  • Students must have WSU courses in their top three UAC preferences

The Academic Excellence Scholarship is worth $5000 for each year of undergraduate study.

There is no application process for this scholarship! Students with the highest ATARs will automatically be awarded these scholarships.

#9 Fast Forward Academic Excellence Scholarship $5k/yr

Students who are participating in the Fast Forward program have the opportunity to apply for this scholarship. The program fosters accessibility to tertiary students among students involved and prepares them for higher education.

This scholarship can be used towards any undergraduate degree at Western Sydney University. To have your application considered:

  • Students must be Australian citizens or permanent residents 
  • Have a WSU undergraduate degree within the top three selections through UAC 
  • Students must have been actively involved within the Fast Forward program
  • Students must have achieved an ATAR of 80 or above
  • Demonstrate a commitment towards Fast Forward values

#8 Western Sydney University Community Scholarship $6k/yr

This WSU scholarship was created to give support to deserving students, who may not have access to tertiary education opportunities as a result of financial difficulties or other circumstances. It is awarded to students commencing study or continuing study at WSU and can be applied to any degree.

To be considered for this scholarship, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Students must be Australian citizens or permanent residents 
  • Students must have received an offer to study at WSU or currently be enrolled in an undergraduate degree 
  • Be able to demonstrate financial or other hardship, based on the Opportunity and Equity Criteria and also including students who are the first in their family to go to university

Monetary Value 

The Western Sydney University Community Scholarship is worth $6000 each year for the duration of the degree.

Applicants will be required to:

  • Submit a written application
  • Provide their academic records for evaluation of academic potential

#7 Hill Trust Scholarship $6k/yr

The Hill Trust Scholarship was established by Dorothea Roma Hill to assist students at the Western Sydney University. Due to her own experiences of being deprived from certain opportunities, she desires to give students the chance to study at a tertiary institution – an opportunity that was not afforded to her.

Students eligible for this scholarship may use it towards any undergraduate degree and there is no minimum ATAR requirement. To apply for this degree you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Receive an offer for undergraduate study at WSU

#5 Club Liverpool Opportunity Scholarship $7.5k/yr

The John Edmondson V.C. Memorial Club, also known as Club Liverpool, was established back in the 1940s and named after Corporal Jack Edmondson, who was known for his leadership and bravery. The club seeks to support various community groups and charities through the Club Grants Scheme.

This WSU scholarship, generously provided by Club Liverpool, is open to any undergraduate degree. To be considered for the scholarship, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Students must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents 
  • Students must have received an offer to study any undergraduate degree or currently be studying at WSU Liverpool Campus

The Sisters of Charity Foundation strives to empower students with the opportunity to experience tertiary study through this WSU scholarship. It was established to help students with essential study materials and living expenses.

You’ll need to fulfil the following criteria to be considered for this scholarship:

  • Students must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

#3 Walter and Eliza Hall Opportunity Scholarship $10k/yr

The Walter and Eliza Hall Opportunity Scholarship aims to assist students with a physical disability. The scholarship has been funded by the late Judy Lennox, who lived with a severe physical disability and understood that not all those living with one had access to education.

To apply for this degree, you need to fulfil the following criteria:

  • Students must be Australian citizens or permanent residents
  • Commencing full-time or part-time study in the first year of any undergrad degree at WSU
  • Have a physical disability that has been demonstrated through formal diagnosis, and ideally be eligible for a Disability Support Benefit

The Walter and Eliza Hall Opportunity Scholarship is worth $10,000 per year of study.

#2 Vice Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship $10k/yr

This scholarship aims to reward high school students who are achieving high marks, but are also excelling in activities outside of their schooling lives. This scholarship is can be used towards any WSU undergraduate course. 

If you’d like to be considered for this scholarship, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Students must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident 
  • Reside or complete the HSC within the Greater Western Sydney region
  • Have applied and listed the WSU course as their first preference on UAC and have already received an offer to study at WSU
  • Achieved a minimum ATAR of 90 
  • Provide evidence of leadership and/or community involvement 

Monetary Value

The Vice Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship is worth $10000 for each year of undergraduate study. 

Application Process 

  • Students will have to write a personal statement discussing why they are eligible for this scholarship, ensuring they include their leadership roles or community involvements
  • Students will also be asked to attend an interview and be available to do so

This scholarship was introduced by GPT, a property group that is passionate about making spaces that go above and beyond the expectations of their investors, clients and communities.

These funds aim to provide greater opportunities for Indigenous university students.

To be considered, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Students must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident 
  • Be enrolled or study currently at WSU 
  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander 

Monetary Value 

The GPT First Nations Scholarship is worth $10,000 per year for the duration of the degree.
