How many hours do you do?
In this post and video, Rowan from #AOSTV interviews Prudence, one of Art of Smart’s 2017 Future Leaders who scored an ATAR of 98.6, on her opinion on how much should you sleep during your HSC.
Prudence shares her own experiences of initially NOT sleeping very much at all, and the impact it had on her. She then shares what she found to be the best approach for her during her HSC!
Here are Prudence’s top tips for getting 8+ hours of sleep every night!
1. Figure Out Your Ideal Sleeping Schedule
The first step is to figure out how much sleep you need and when the ideal time for you to get that sleep is!
So, ask yourself how many hours of sleep do you need to feel your best and perform your best? This will depend and be different for everyone, so have a good think about it!
If you need a bit of extra help, you can use the sleepyti.me bedtime calculator to give you a better idea of when you should go to sleep based on when you wake up!
2. Make Sleep Apart of Your Schedule
The next step is to make sleep a non-negotiable on your schedule!
If you’ve decided that you need to go to sleep every day at 10pm so you can get up at 6am, make a decision on when you need to stop studying or working to wind down before bed!
If you find you need an hour or two to wind down before bed then you should be making it non-negotiable that you stop studying around 8pm or 9pm to make sure you get enough sleep each night!
