Using Confidence Intervals is a part of the VCE Specialist Maths topic Probability and Statistics. In this post, we will understand the concept of an interval estimate for a parameter associated with a random variable. The confidence interval (CI) is:
- a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence.
- often expressed as a % whereby a population mean lies between an upper and lower interval.
What is a Confidence Interval?
The following video will introduce you to confidence intervals, and the situations in which they are applicable.
Watch this next video to understand how confidence intervals can be applied to calculating margin of error.
