Transformations and Piecework Functions is a part of the VCE Maths Methods topic Functions and Graphs. In this post, we look at simple transformations and combinations of these functions.
- Transformations of functions occur when functions are moved, shifted or stretched.
- Piecewise or hybrid functions are functions which are a combination of multiple functions. They also have restrictions for where certain parts of the hybrid functions can exist.
In this next video, we will understand how functions can be transformed and stretched horizontally and vertically, and reflected over the x-axis and y-axis.
What is a Piecewise Function?
The following three videos will explain what a hybrid or piecewise function is, and how tp graph and interpret it.
