Sphere Model of the Earth

The Sphere Model of the Earth is a part of the VCE Further Maths topic Geometry and Measurement and subtopic Spherical Geometry. This post looks at the use of meridians to determine the shortest distance from any point on the earth to a pole or the equator. It also explores the use of a great circle to determine the shortest distance between two points on the surface of the earth that have the same longitude.
