Predicting with a Least Squares Regression Line is a part of the VCE Further Maths topic Data Analysis. It is part of the subtopic Investigating and Modelling Linear Associations. In maths, we use interpolation and extrapolation to predict values in relation to the data. Interpolation refers to using the data in order to predict data within the dataset. Extrapolation is the use of the data set to predict beyond the data set. The following videos explain this concept in more detail and provide examples on how to make predictions.
What is the Difference?
The following two videos explain the difference between interpolation and extrapolation and what the predictions tell us.
