Phylogenetic Trees and Determining Relatability is a part of the VCE Biology area of study ‘How are Species Related?’ and subtopic ‘Determining Relatedness Between Species’. A phylogenetic tree shows the ancestral relationship between species by looking at shared traits. They are important for finding hypothetical common ancestors. All of life is a part of a single phylogenetic tree.
