Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient is a part of the VCE Further Maths topic Data Analysis. It is a part of the subtopic Investigating Associations Between Two Variables.
Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient ‘r’ measures the strength of a linear association. In other words, when the points on the scatterplot line up in a straight line in there is a strong linear association. The coefficient will always have a value between -1 and +1. The following videos will explain how to identify the coefficient and what that means.
