Introduction to the Lac Operon Model is a part of the VCE Biology area of study ‘How Do Cellular Processes Work?’ and subtopic ‘Nucleic Acids and Proteins’. The lac operon is a group of genes with a single promotor. The genes in this operon encode proteins that enable bacteria to use lactose for energy.
