Graphing power functions is a section of the VCE Maths Methods course under the topic Functions and Graphs. In this post, we learn to:
- Identify key features and properties of the graph of a function or relation.
- Draw the graphs of specified functions and relations.
So What Are Power Functions?
A power function is a function which has a term with a variable raised to a fixed real number, which is called the power. The power can be negative, positive, a whole number or a fraction, and all of these have a different effect on what the graph looks like.Â
