Data Transformations is a part of the VCE Further Maths topic Data Analysis, and subtopic Investigating and Modelling Linear Associations. In this post, we look at the use of transforming data from non-linear forms to linearity using a square, log or reciprocal transformation. Some statistical tests require that our data be linear. This is why we learn to transform it. We may also know that the data has an error, so transforming the data will help to reduce this error.
