What is a polynomial?
In this post, we examine the algebra of polynomials and define a real polynomial P(x) as the expression a_{n}x^{n} + a_{n-1}x^{n-1} + ... + a_{2}x^{2} + a_{1}x + a_{0} where n = 0, 1, 2, … and a_{0}, a_{1}, a_{2}, ... , a_{n} are real numbers. This is part of the VCE Maths Methods course under the topic Algebra and sub-part Polynomials, specifically focusing on the algebra of polynomials.
What is the mathematical definition of a polynomial?
The following video covers the mathematical definition of a polynomial where a_{n}x^{n} + a_{n-1}x^{n-1} + ... + a_{2}x^{2} + a_{1}x + a_{0} where n = 0, 1, 2, … and a_{0}, a_{1}, a_{2}, ... , a_{n} are real numbers.
Understanding the terms and variables of a polynomial
This video covers the theory and definitions of polynomial, going in-depth about what makes up a polynomial.
