#10 Westpac Young Technologists Scholarship $5k/yr

The Westpac Young Technologists Scholarship is open to innovators under the age of 26, who want to excel through networking and using innovative technology to advance in their field. With this UTS scholarship, you’ll be provided with internship opportunities, the chance to network with Westpac Group industry leaders, and membership within the Westpac 100 Scholars Network.

To be considered for the scholarship, students must:

    • Be an Australian citizen or be a permanent resident 
    • Achieve an ATAR of 80 or higher 
    • Be enrolled in any of the courses outlined here full time 

Monetary Value

The Westpac Young Technologists Scholarship is worth $25,000 for up to 5 years. 

Application Process 

Students will apply using the UTS online Students Application Form to be considered. Those who are shortlisted will be interviewed and chosen based on their:

    • Initiative to learn about opportunities in which they can grow within their professional and personal lives

#9 Faculty of Law Equity Scholarship $5k/yr

This equity scholarship intends to support students commencing study within UTS’ Faculty of Law who are facing financial hardships. 

In order to apply for this scholarship, you must:

    • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident 
    • Have received an offer to study an undergraduate degree within the UTS Faculty of Law
    • Be available to attend an interview in person

Monetary Value 

The Faculty of Law Equity Scholarship is worth $20,000 over four years. 

Application Process 

Students must be able to demonstrate financial disadvantage through applying for a UAC Equity Scholarship and filling out the UTS Scholarship Application Form.

#8 The Gradwell Brungs Scholarship $10k/yr

This scholarship has been established to help students who are facing financial hardships to give them the chance to pursue undergraduate studies at UTS.

To be able to apply for this scholarship, you must:

    • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident 
    • Be under the age of 23 when commencing study 
    • Commence study in the Autumn session 
    • Be enrolled full time 
    • Be available to attend an interview in person 

Monetary Value 

The Gradwell Brungs Scholarship is worth $20,000 over two years. 

Application Process 

Students must be able to demonstrate financial disadvantage through applying for a UAC Equity Scholarship and filling out the UTS Scholarship Application Form. 

Your application will require you to demonstrate:

  1. Potential for excellence
  2. One signed reference letter from an employer, school official or community group leader, which exemplifies your excellence and/or drive
  3. Motivation to do well in your chosen degree
  4. Initiative to find opportunities to grow in your professional and personal life

#7 Business Dean’s Scholarship $10k/yr

The Business Dean’s Scholarship is aimed towards academic achievers intending to study within UTS’ Business Faculty. It will support undergrad students financially throughout the course of their studies.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • Be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident 
    • Be a current school leaver or a gap year student 
    • Have received an offer through UAC to study an undergraduate course within the Faculty of Business  
    • Intend to study full-time 

Monetary Value 

The Business Dean’s Scholarship is worth $30,000 over three years. 

Application Process 

Scholarships such as these are appointed automatically, after ATAR results have been released. It is optional to complete, but you may fill out the Elite School Leaver Scholarship Application to be eligible for this scholarship and potentially others. 

You will need to demonstrate academic excellence throughout Year 12 and your first UAC preference should be a UTS Business School undergraduate degree.

#6 Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship $12.5k/yr

This UTS scholarship is awarded to students who are high academic achievers, but have been financially disadvantaged.

Students who demonstrate the following will be considered for the scholarship:

    • Be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident 
    • Current school leaver or gap year student 
    • Have received an offer through UAC to study an undergraduate course within UTS
    • Intend to study full time
    • Have an ATAR of 90 or above
    • Demonstrate financial disadvantage by applying for or being assessed under the Equity Scholarship or Educational Access Scheme via UAC

Monetary Value 

The Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship is worth $12,500 for each year of study, for the standard duration of a UTS course. 

Application Process 

There is no formal application process for this scholarship as students will automatically be awarded this scholarship for demonstrating the selection criteria. Students however, can send in an Elite School Leaver Application Form if they wish to be considered for other scholarships as well.

#5 Vice-Chancellor’s Outstanding Achievement Scholarship $12.5k/yr

Similar to the Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship, this scholarship aims to attract high academic achievers to commence studying an undergraduate degree at UTS.

Consideration for this scholarship will be given to students who demonstrate the following criteria:

    • Be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident 
    • Current school leaver or gap year student 
    • Received an offer through UAC to study an undergraduate course 
    • Intend to study full time 
    • Have an ATAR of 95 or above, excluding bonus points 

Monetary Value 

The Vice-Chancellor’s Outstanding Achievement Scholarship is worth $12,500 per year of study, for the standard duration of a UTS course. 

Application Process 

There is no formal application process for this scholarship as students will automatically be awarded this scholarship for demonstrating the selection criteria. However, having a UTS undergraduate degree as their first UAC preference and also filling out the Elite School Leaver Application Form will be highly regarded.

#4 Rotary Soukup Galuwa NT Scholarship $15k/yr

This scholarship aims to aid one young Indigenous student throughout their studies by relieving some of the financial costs associated with an undergrad UTS degree. 

Eligible candidates will fulfil the following criteria:

    • Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
    • Be under 30 years of age at the commencement of study
    • Commence your first year in the Jumbunna Unistart Program or any UTS undergraduate degree

Monetary Value 

The Rotary Soukup Galuwa NT Scholarship is worth $45,000 across three years. 

Application Process 

You can apply for this scholarship by filling out the UTS Scholarship Application Form. Your application should demonstrate motivation to do well in your chosen degree, initiative by participating in extra-curricular and non-academic activities, potential for success through receiving this scholarship.

#3 Bachelor of Information Technology Cooperative Scholarship Program $16.5k/yr

This program is intended to champion graduates who will go on to become leaders within Australia’s information technology sector. Graduates will become familiar with business principles and get exposure to practice, as well as the fundamentals of IT. 

Successful applicants will also be given opportunities to undertake two separate industry placements with sponsor organisations.

Candidates eligible for the scholarship will:

    • Be Australian citizens or permanent residents 
    • Be recent school leavers 
    • Be enrolled full-time

#2 Women in Engineering at IT Cooperative Scholarship $16.5k/yr

This program seeks to attract, develop and retain females within the Engineering and IT industries. It will provide successful candidates with three industry placements and opportunities to be mentored, network, and develop leadership and professional skills.

To be considered for the scholarship, you must fulfil the following criteria:

    • Be female
    • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
    • Be enrolled or intend to enrol in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice in the session immediately commencing the award
    • Have a minimum ATAR of 85 or above

Monetary Value

The Women In Engineering and IT Cooperative Scholarship is worth $66,000 across 4 years. 

Application Process 

Students must send in an application form that demonstrates their interest in engineering and shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview. Those that are successful will be notified after ATAR results are released.

#1 Wai Tang and Kee Wong Diversity Opportunity Scholarship $17k/yr

Established by E-Centric Innovations Pty Ltd, this scholarship aims to provide more opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse women in their future careers. It will provide recipients with financial support and mentoring.

To apply for this scholarship, you must:

    • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
    • Be female
    • Have not completed HSC or other states equivalent 
    • Come from a linguistically or culturally diverse background 
    • Be enrolled in eligible undergraduate degrees listed here under “Who is eligible?”

Monetary Value 

The Wai Tang and Kee Wong Diversity Opportunity Scholarship is worth $17,000 for each year of study, for the standard duration of a UTS course.
