What makes Hiroshi a Trailblazer?

During his latter high school years, Hiroshi has achieved a myriad of accomplishments across a range of fields including leadership, academics, and especially music! Hiroshi recently completed Grade 8 Violin from Trinity College London, showing his sheer dedication to the instrument and art of music.

In school, Hiroshi established the first school string ensemble, initially starting as a four person quartet. It has now grown to have enough members to participate in the NSW Bands Festival where the ensemble won the Donald Hazelwood Award for strings. This was the first time Pennant Hills High School had entered the competition and were able to win a prestigious award under the guidance and leadership of Hiroshi. Hiroshi’s talent in violin has been able to inspire his peers and even younger members of the school to begin their music endeavours.

And it does not stop there for Hiroshi! He also balanced being a School Captain, a member of the Northern Sydney Youth Orchestra, representing the U15 New Zealand team in Table Tennis and representing his school in the cricket team in the Alan Davidson Shield.

Hiroshi has gained a lot of resilience thanks to his ventures in music. He has suffered broken bones, moving countries and changing violin teachers, all of which are considerable set backs in his passion for violin.

For one week Hiroshi was given the opportunity to complete work experience at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) focusing in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This experience was key in inspiring Hiroshi, and we expect to see him working in the fields of engineering and science soon! Don’t worry — he will also keep doors open for the pursuit of Music!

I was able to inspire my peers and students in the younger years at my school…I now leave the string ensemble in good hands to the confident juniors who have had a taste of success.

Congratulations to Hiroshi on the crazy success he has had in the Music field! It is definitely no surprise to see him being one of our Top 50 Trailblazers!
