What makes Charbel a Trailblazer?

Charbel has spent his schooling years strongly contributing to the religious culture of his school and wider community. In 2021, this was recognised when he was awarded the Archbishop Award for Student Excellence. These contributions included managing events and fundraisers to raise awareness of issues within his local churches, as well as participating in parish life to help modernise his local church operations.

After receiving the award, Charbel gained a newfound sense of confidence in himself and his abilities to enact real change within his community. It has encouraged him to continue pursuing to do so beyond high school.

Charbel says that all of his efforts to better his community’s religious culture has furthered his appreciation of strong leadership skills.

“It has improved my understanding and appreciation of leadership skills and what it takes to make a great leader in times of difficulty, inspiring others to achieve heights that they never thought that they could achieve themselves.”

Charbel’s outstanding portfolio goes even further. He was elected as a member of his school’s SRC for the past three years, played hockey for a local club, was selected as captain for his school’s cricket team, as well as maintained a casual job.

This is all made more impressive by the fact that he does it all while helping to care for his three younger siblings.

Charbel is tossing up between law or economics for his future career path. He found both subject areas highly enjoyable throughout school and would be interested in pursuing a career in either.

After learning about all of his amazing work bolstering the religious life of his local community and how he manages to do this on top of study and extracurriculars, it is no wonder that Charbel has been recognised as a finalist in our Top 50 Trailblazers!
