Why Asking “How Many Hours Should I Study” Is the WRONG Question!

We’ve all been there before, sitting down studying when someone asks “How much study have you done?”

You probably say “I’ve done 2 hours!”, but deep down you know that’s total BS.

Maybe you were sitting there for 2 hours, but the truth is you were probably zoned out, procrastinating and you weren’t actually getting stuff done.

What this tells us is that it actually doesn’t matter how much time you spend studying.

That’s why asking “How many hours should I be studying” is the WRONG question.

Instead, you should be asking yourself, “What did I actually get done today?”.

The key to actually focusing on how much study you’re actually doing, as opposed to how much time you’re spending ‘studying’ is actually really simple:

Use A Daily To-Do List

Now I know you’re probably thinking this sounds too simple. But you’d be surprised how few people actually use a daily to-do list.

Sure, you might make a to-do list once a week or every now and then, but the real game-changer is to write a to-do list every single day.

The first thing you should do when you come home from school everyday is to write your to-do list. What this helps you do is to transform the hours you spend studying from being time-focused to being outcome-focused.

So how can you use this to upgrade your study and improve your outcomes?

It’s simple:

Step 1: When you get home from school, sit down and write a list of everything you need to get done that day.

Step 2: Cross tasks off as you do them! This isn’t just satisfying, but it also allows you to track your progress on the tasks you want to achieve.

Sound achievable?

When you’ve sat down and written your daily to-do list, we’d love to see it!
