In this post, we look at Topic 2: Vectors and matrices and reviewing the concepts of vectors from Unit 1, as part of QCE Specialist Maths. Here we will perform addition and subtraction of vectors and multiplication of a vector by a scalar algebraically and geometrically, and interpret these operations in geometric terms.
Adding and Subtracting Vectors
Adding and subtracting vectors gives us the resultant vector. This can be thought of like what happens to an object when two forces are acting upon it, or the final direction of two objects after they collide. This video explains this in further detail.
Multiplication of Vectors
This video explains multiplying a vector by a scalar.
