This is part of the QCE Year 12 syllabus for Specialist Maths. In this post, we will explore how to model real-life situations using matrices, including Dominance and Leslie.

Here are some explanations of the matrices before we jump in:

  • Leslie matrices may be used to model the age distribution of a population as well as population growth.
  • Dominance matrices can be used to model network connections or modelling rankings from round-robin sporting competitions.
