What are Amphiprotic Species?
This post will explore amphiprotic species for QCE Chemistry.
3.1.4 – Bronsted-Lowry Model
- Recognise that amphiprotic species can act as Brønsted-Lowry acids
Amphiprotic species describe certain compounds that can behave as an acid or a base depending on the other solvent it is interacting with. For example, water can act as an acid in base or a base when in acid.
This video will go through amphiprotic substances and some examples.
