Transformers

This section is part of the HSC Physic syllabus Module 6: Electromagnetism under Electromagnetic Induction. Transformers are used to increase or decrease voltages and currents.

Basic formulae for transformers are the following

  \frac{N_p}{N_s} =  \frac{V_p}{V_s} = \frac{I_s}{I_p}

Note that current is inversely proportional to the number of turns and voltage.
