Standard Model of Matter: Quarks & Hardrons

All matter is made of elementary particles, the building blocks of matter. These particles occur in two basic types called quarks and leptons.

 

What are quarks, and the quark composition hadrons?

There are 6 types of quarks:

  • Up
  • Down
  • Charm
  • Strange
  • Top
  • Bottom

 

Hadrons

Particles that interact by the strong interaction are called hadrons.
