- Land degradation from agricultural practices
Mining
Previously, many mining sites, after use, were just not good for anything. Various chemicals are used during the mining process and the mines are typically not dug in well-thought-out structures which makes it unsuitable for farming. Of course, this also means that many animals cannot be rehabilitated to reside on or near the mines either. Although, there are rehabilitation programs now that are seeing some success.
