Odd, Even or Neither Functions

This is part of the Prelim Maths Extension 1 Syllabus from the topic Trigonometric Functions: Inverse Trigonometric Functions. In this post, we will explore classifying functions: odd, even or, neither. So what are odd, even or neither functions?

  • A function is odd if f(-x) = -f(x)
  • A function is even if f(-x) = f(x)
  • Neither, if it satisfies neither odd nor even.

Don’t forget to write out all proofs clearly every single time you need to prove any of them!
