Moving Charge in an Electric Field

What are the effects of a moving charge in an electric field?

In this post, we analyse the effects of a moving charge in an electric field, in order to relate potential energy, work and equipotential lines, as a part of the Prelim Physics course under the module Electricity and Magnetism and sub-part Electrostatics. We apply the relationship V = \frac{ \Delta U}{q} , where U is the potential energy and q is the charge.

The following three videos analyse the effect of a moving charge in an electric field, looking at the calculations.

Part 1: Electric potential energy of charges

Part 2: Work to move across equipotential surfaces

Part 3: Example
