Inequalities with Absolute Values

Inequalities with absolute values can be tricky, we need to deal with all cases of what’s inside the absolute values, that is:

  • Positive inside the absolute value
  • Or a negative of what’s inside the absolute value

This is part of the Prelim Maths Extension 1 Syllabus from the topic Functions: Further, Work with Functions.

Now, we will explore inequalities with absolute values Here we will learn to solve absolute value inequalities of the form:

  • |ax+b| > k
