Further Operations with Vectors

This topic is part of the HSC Mathematics Extension 1 syllabus under the topic Vectors.

Here we will investigate further operations with vectors, including defining, calculating and using the magnitude of a vector in two dimensions.

The magnitude of a vector

The magnitude of a vector is how long it is, this comes from Pythagoras theorem. Basically it is finding the length of the hypotenuse, or in our case, the actual vector!
