What is an exponential function?

In this post, we recognise and sketch the graphs of y = ka^{x}, y = ka^{-x} where k is a constant, and y = log_{a}x , as a part of the Prelim Maths Advanced course under the topic Exponential and Logarithmic Functions and sub-part Introducing Logarithms.
